The Ultimate Shower Protector for Laryngectomy and Tracheostomy Patients

Cascade is a soft, waterproof PVC protector that provides a barrier to prevent shower water from entering a stoma thereby improving the patient's confidence to shower routinely. The neckband is soft and elastic to form a comfortable yet firm seal around the neck to prevent water seeping below the protector. The backing is knitted polyamide material that will absorb moisture from surrounding wet skin and provide a comfortable warm feel unlike other products that may initially feel cold to the skin.

From a safety perspective, the polyamide backing also prevents adhesion to the skin or stoma button when the protector is wet as adhesion from unlined protectors can reduce the ability for the patient to breath properly.

Cascade is shaped to fit snugly and repel water spray away from a wide area around the stoma. Simple to wear, the protector has a hook / loop closure that secures the protector around the neck; this is easy to adjust in order to optimise a secure fit for comfort and the prevention of water seepage.

For added comfort and breathability the Cascade Shower Protector can be worn over a standard Sofshield protector or an alternative filter, however this is not essential due to the backing material. The protector is an aesthetically pleasing white in colour and are supplied in pairs to allow for drying between showers.
